As part of a restructuring effort, Tesla has announced an additional round of layoffs. The company has notified the California Employment Development Department that it will cut around 600 employees from its manufacturing facilities and engineering offices. The layoffs will impact various positions across different departments, including factory workers, software developers, and robotics engineers. These job cuts come as Tesla faces weakening demand and increased competition in the electric vehicle market. CEO Elon Musk previously announced plans to cut more than 10% of the company’s global workforce. Tesla’s stock price has dropped about 30% this year.
